Pushing snow, ice, or other materials from driveways, sidewalks, or private property onto town roads or public rights-of-way is prohibited under Wisconsin law. Violations may result in citations and fines.
Property owners should be aware that the town right-of-way generally extends 33 feet from the road centerline on each side of the roadway. Items such as trees, brush, lawn ornaments, landscaping materials, and other structures should not be placed within the right-of-way. Mailboxes are the only privately owned structures permitted in the right-of-way under Wisconsin law and are placed there at the owner’s risk.
A burning permit is required before conducting outdoor burning. Failure to obtain a permit or comply with daily burning restrictions may result in citations, fire response charges, or other penalties. Building permits, inspections, and land-use administrative approvals may be required before beginning construction or property improvements.

A permit is required to discharge fireworks within the Town of Red Cedar. To request a permit, contact the Town Chairman at (715) 556-2244. There is no fee for the permit; however, permits are issued at the Chairman’s discretion. Violations may be subject to citation or fines by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Department.
